My Laptop Crashed

Friday I had to replace my laptop. I just about brought me to tears and into an anxiety attack. The fear of losing everything I had saved on my 6-year-old laptop. It had all my genealogy, photos, crafts, blogging ideas, journaling, recipes, for easier words my LIFE.

I’m so thankful my daughter was with me. You would think I know somewhat about laptops and drives and memory all the bells and whistles that come along with a new computer. I don’t, that’s where the anxiety attack began. My mind was running faster than a race car, turning curves on a dime. As the tears piled up in my eyes, I knew I had to pull myself together. Once I could get my thoughts and feelings in check I began to calm down and refocus. Issues like these cause anxiety attacks or it can be just a sound or smell.

My outlet to the outside world is my computer. Sure I leave my house and do things with family and friends. But 85% of my life is my computer. I spend endless hours doing genealogy, helping others with their family trees, looking for new crafts, learning about plants, and working on the groups that I’ve created.

I have met so many kind people through my genealogy research. Some I feel have become family. With helping others with the family tree’s fills my heart. I feel very blessed when I personally reunite heirlooms with their families. I’ve communicated by phone with family members, hearing the joy in their voice brings tears to my eyes. Yes, I’m a soft-hearted person, but I do have a edgy side.

What are you hobbies, are you soft-hearted or edgy?
